Helping another guy
Recognize your friend's effort and progress. Because it isn’t always easy for a guy to ask for help and approach others, it’s important to tell him that you believe in what he's trying to do and that you're proud of all the work he's put in.

Beyond feelings. Asking “How are you feeling?” or “What’s that like for you?” is fine, but some guys have a hard time answering these kinds of questions, because they’re not comfortable recognizing or talking about their feelings. If that's the case with your friend, you can change your questions and focus on something else. For example, you can ask “How did you react?” or “What did you do then?”

Support your friend in the process he's undertaken to get help. You can’t do his work for him, but you can be there for him. Ask him what you can do for him.
