Often confused with each other, these two forms of “personal web site” have different goals.

• A personal web page is like a calling card. It’s a place where you can present information about yourself and your interests, and let people know something about you. It also provides you with an opportunity to express yourself and interact with your friends.
• Blogs present content which visitors are invited to react to by adding their comments. If you want your blog to be visited regularly, you have to put a lot of time into it and regularly update its content.

More often than not, young people create blogs and personal pages as part of school projects. It’s not surprising therefore that many young people drop them after they’ve created them. Every day, thousands of new blogs and personal pages are born and die. Currently, they don’t account for a large part of the Internet interests of young people.
