The suicide of someone close to you

Grief—what is it?
•    Grief is a normal process that accompanies major losses that shake you up (e.g. the suicide of a friend or relative).

•    The length and intensity of the grieving period vary from person to person and from one situation to another.

•    Grief is often accompanied by several different emotions including sadness, confusion, guilt, stress and anxiety. In order to not isolate yourself and to better understand what’s happening, be sure to talk about your emotions and needs to people you trust.

•    To overcome your grief, you will also need time and care, much as though you had a broken leg.

•    The mourning period has different stages.
